About the job…

Go Auto is looking for a versatile web developer with a passion for producing unbelievable, awesome web sites and clean, maintainable code.  You will work with our Marketing and Web Development teams creating, responsive, modern, usable sites and interfaces for a variety of projects including the industry leading GoAuto.ca website and various other public and private web sites.

About You…

• You can code HTML and CSS in your sleep.
• You write serious JavaScript, appreciate its good parts, and know how to avoid the bad parts.
• You have the ability to interpret and translate mockups and wireframes into solid, functional UI’s.
• You also have the ability to convert poorly drawn pictures on napkins into industry leading web platforms.
• AND, you can work without some marketing manager providing constant direction regarding how a website should work, look and feel.
• You understand Google Analytics and can make decisions based on data and all the A/B testing you have done.
• You know Python.  Well.  Or, you are excited to learn how to use Python.
• You have experience with a server-side web framework (preferably Django) and work comfortably with template languages (preferably Django’s).
• You know how to lay the beatdown on IE7 and show it who’s boss. (No one cares about IE6 anymore)
• You build websites that respond to whatever the device of the day happens to be.  Even Windows Phone 8.
• You understand RESTful web services, AJAX, and will take JSON over XML any day.
• You are comfortable with distributed version control systems like Git.
• You keep up with the latest tools and technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Web Sockets, jQuery, Backbone, Node, Sass, CoffeScript)
• You have experience managing and running enterprise web platforms.
• You can work with other web developers in a mentorship role.
• You can work independently at an extremely high pace.
