Research + Communications Experience + Writing + Passion for Web = Market Research and Web Content Assistant
Are you a well organized and highly motivated individual with excellent computer, analysis, and organizational skills? If you are, the City of Edmonton's Office of Public Engagement would love to have you on board.
Here you'll be responsible for supporting the Office's market research function and web pages by programming on-line surveys, organizing and analyzing survey results and developing and updating web content. Some of the key areas that you would be involved in include:
- Supporting design and implementation of the City's on-line Insight Community
- Programming on-line survey scripts/questionnaires for market research data collection
- Conducting quality control checks on surveys; verifying all programming to ensure accuracy in logic, skip patterns, quotas and other requirements
- Creating data libraries for tabulations
- Creating accurate and timely data reports
- Assisting with developing specialized programs for more complex tasks such as matching/appending data to produce files with merged information
- Carrying out on-going management of the community through membership administration, newsletter development, and other related duties
- Supporting the creation and updating of the Office's web pages and on-line Public Engagement Calendar
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized community college, technical institution with a diploma or certificate in a related field such as market research, survey programming or web content development
- A minimum of 1 year experience in survey programming and web content development
- Experience in developing surveys using a recognized survey development tool such as Sparq required
- Experience in organizing, analyzing and reporting on both quantitative and qualitative data required
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of web development and web usability standards and practices including a solid understanding of the City of Edmonton's website taxonomy is an asset
- Knowledge of web authoring and web publishing software, particularly content management systems (i.e. Open Text, RedDot) is an asset
- Project management experience and the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Professional, MS Office Suite, Gmail, Google Docs and the ability to code HTML/XHTMl is an asset
- Knowledge of and experience with various social media platforms is an asset
Hours of Work: 40.0 hours per week
Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 015, $24.418 - $30.590 (Hourly). The rates quoted are in accordance with a Collective Agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton
