Manager Marketing full-time
Responsible for providing strategic marketing and branding expertise and leadership for complex projects in support of the Provincial transit program in an integrated, multi-modal environment.
Key Accountabilities
Leads the development and implementation of the provincial transit marketing and design programs for
BC Transit in partnership with local and senior government.Responsible for maintaining BC Transit brand image throughout the organization and its partners.
Identifies and develops marketing and communications opportunities and partnerships within the transit communities to grow support and improve the perception of transit.
Leads marketing and design for over 50 transit systems across B.C. Understands and builds market potential for new products, new marketing programs and public education opportunities while ensuring the delivery of core public information.
Evaluates the effectiveness of marketing programs by understanding target groups and attitudes. Develops new or improved marketing programs, policies and procedures based market evaluation, best practices and research.
Manages relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, community stakeholders, industry peers, and senior government contacts at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
Develops and executes public engagement opportunities with the public and other stakeholders.
Participates as a member of the management team in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and systems to optimize program effectiveness and service delivery for all areas of accountability. Liaises with other department heads to identify priority and issue areas relating to marketing.
Leads a marketing and design team of five while managing a budget of over one million dollars.
Education and Experience
Post secondary degree in Marketing or a related field plus a minimum five (5) years progressive management experience in marketing and design. Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Knowledge of the concepts, practices and techniques of marketing and design is required.

Compensation
Exempt Band 5 : $77,000 - $90,000
