Roles & Responsibilities:

• Gather input and requirements from the team
• Design and create reusable JavaScript libraries while understanding the back-end features
• Occasionally work on UI components
• Work on next gen media streaming components that power our technology
• Implement features within a team using best practices to meet product or solution deliverables.
• Refactor code to increase operating efficiency and extensibility and/or adapt programs to new requirements.
• Prepare software packages and documentation for deployment that adhere to the defined standard deployment policies.
• Be highly responsive to critical production issues providing timely and effective solutions or guidelines.

• Strong JavaScript development experience (role is 95% JavaScript development).
  • Strong front-end web development experience (role is 5% front-end UI).
• 2 years of experience in which JavaScript development was your primary responsibility
• Experience with media streaming and open source players like Shaka would be a huge plus
• You have expertise with at least some of the following technologies: Node, npm, Grunt, Gulp, Karma, Jasmine
  • You are familiar with data exchange formats, including JSON and XML
  • You are experienced in event-based programming and asynchronous communication (i.e. AJAX)
• -You have experience with frontend development technologies: HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience creating software for web-based clients while also understanding server-side issues
• Proficient in the use of SCM tools (SVN, GIT, Maven, Jenkins), best practices and continuous integration.
  • Basic familiarity with HTTP protocol and debugging HTTP requests. You are familiar with one or more of: Chrome network panel, Charles Proxy, Fiddler
• Good understanding of distributed multi-tier infrastructure.
• Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team setting
• Creative problem solving skills and an ability to apply business logic to development requirements
• Strong knowledge of cross-browser implementation techniques and limitations
• Detail-oriented and resourceful individual who works well under pressure
• Excellent oral and written communication and good documentation skills.

• Engineering degree is preferred.
