Digital Strategist (Bilingual) full-time

Glendon is York University's Francophone and bilingual Faculty and the only institution in southern Ontario where university programs are offered in both French and English. In 2013, Glendon was named the Centre of Excellence of French-Language Postsecondary Education and its current strategic plan includes the strengthening of its bilingual mandate and, as a result, the development of its relationships with French-language colleges, bilingual universities and with the Francophone community of the Centre-Southwest.
In this role, reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Communications and Community Engagement (SCCE) and also supporting activities of the Manager, Public Relations, Faculty Communications and Special Events, you will play a crucial role in supporting Glendon's communications and marketing objectives through exceptional planning and execution of Glendon's digital strategy, via the website, social channels and digital campaigns. Functioning both collaboratively and independently, this dynamic and proactive role helps tell the Glendon story by effectively leveraging and broadening its digital presence to enhance campus reputation, build long term engagement and bring together the Glendon community of students, staff, faculty, community partners and beyond. The Digital Strategist provides guidelines to Glendon staff in order to support the effective operation of digital platforms by all users, and serves as go-to expert on all things related to digital communications.
The Digital Strategist will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of Glendon Campus and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration and continuous improvement, On campus and online, Glendon embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
University degree in Liberal Arts, or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. Also requires a strong foundation in digital communications or marketing acquired through various certifications or training, e.g., Google Analytics, Wordpress, and Adobe Creative Suite. A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, advertising or marketing, with a range of social media, online communications including web, or interactive engagement experience. Experience in developing and executing communication strategies that involve several stakeholders, and experience in an academic/research environment will be considered an asset.
