Overview

An exciting and challenging position exists as a Digital Designer at Vega’s head office in Burnaby, BC.  Reporting to the Senior Art Director, with a dotted line to the Manager of Digital Marketing you will be responsible for owning the digital user experience, creating and executing digital assets while ensuring brand consistency (concepts, design, tone) across assets, regardless of platform. In this role, you will be a part of a hands-on, collaborative and inspiring in-house Creative team that goes above and beyond to support all areas of the company with a focus on Marketing and Sales. As an individual, you are a solutions-focused, critical thinker, with the ability to transform complex ideas into effective, beautiful and innovative user experiences. You embrace the color green.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute digital assets for all paid and owned digital channels including myvega.com, Vega CRM email program and other owned digital properties
• Create and re-size designs for digital marketing & ecommerce needs including product and brand marketing campaigns, web based projects, internal and external communications, and advocacy
• Communicate effectively in cross-functional teams and present ideas and designs effectively
• Collaborate with Digital team to produce assets consistent in brand message, tone, and look-and-feel to achieve an integrated brand identity
• Establish design process workflows to streamline design and scope iteration and handover to development teams
• Lead development of marketing assets library for deployment across web shop, homepage, and social channels.
• Provide support to the Digital and Creative team as required
• Desire to bring best practices to life for digital design
• Additional design projects, as needed

Skills and Qualifications

• 2-4 year post-secondary design diploma or degree
• 3-5+ years of industry experience in digital design a must
• Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS an asset
• Highly motivated, technically competent individual, with a naturally inquisitive nature
• Exceptional collaborative skills
• Great communication skills. You have the ability to make complex topics understandable
• Excellent knowledge of current and emerging digital design trends
• Deep understanding and appreciation for consumer product branding and positioning
• Proven ability to align with the brand standards and Vega best practices for creative execution
