The Digital Analyst, Marketing specializes in analyzing digital data gathered from multiple “listening posts” (websites, surveys, testing, CRM systems, market research etc.), providing insights and reporting on trends. Key outputs of the digital analyst role are the creation of dashboards, reports and recommendations for presentation to various university departments, ensuring a better understanding of digital communications university-wide.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, manage and provide analysis on digital campaigns and develop content strategies to promote programs on the UFV website
- Produce detailed reports for various departments on campaigns, growth patterns and social media funnel tracking
- Understand the experience and behaviours of UFV’s various audiences and make strategic recommendations on the most important KPIs to track
- Define best practices for analyzing online user behaviour and for interpreting data
- Perform all duties of an analytics tool administrator including creating/managing account access, all site tagging and configurations, custom dashboards, and user training as requested
- Participate in kick-off activities to ensure necessary analytics tracking is configured prior to site or campaign launches
- Run regularly scheduled web analytics reports that contribute meaningful analysis and actionable insights
- Monitor and provide best practices for improvement of online conversions to optimize campaign success
- Determine objectives, methods and tools needed for iterative testing and optimization
- Lead regular tagging audits, providing best practices, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting for internal partners as requested
- Plan, implement and analyse qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques e.g. user testing, diary studies, user personas
- Develop and present user personas to UFV’s various audiences based on gathered data
- Develop and present user requirements in all UFV’s customer-facing projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a related field from a recognized institution or equivalent
- Certification in digital and web analytics considered an asset
- Minimum four (4) years of experience working with an advanced real-time digital analytics system including a minimum of three
- (3) years of experience in using the Microsoft Office suite with expert level Excel skills
- Knowledge of advanced digital analytics methodologies such as A/B and multi-variate testing, competitive analysis, surveys and market research
- Data management and visualization experience
- Experience directing the implementation of a web analytics platform, including the provision of detailed variable requirements to an IT team to ensure the proper collection of data elements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects, set priorities and negotiate timelines
- Analytics experience in agile project environments would be an asset
- Basic JavaScript, HTML, and computer programming concepts would be an asset
