a day in the life of a vp of design
Responsible for the overall vision and design direction of all men’s apparel lines and through all phases of product design and development
Identify opportunities and create a roadmap and strategy for the line – partner with raw materials, merchandising, development and sourcing on ensuring we have world class partners in place and execute
Direct a team of designers and graphic artists – in season and pre-season – and coach on design ethos, 4 F’s, branding, and design process
Build a high performance team and pipeline of designers
Collaborate with brand on product story telling
Global travel for trend research, tradeshows and product development
Work on the retail floor – 2 x per month – connecting with guests/athletes to elevate our product
the finer print required-
10+ years of industry experience in technical performance apparel design
5+ years experience leading and managing teams and setting creative vision
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Textile or an industry related field
Experience with athletic apparel company
Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns and textiles, and working cross-functionally with sourcing and raw material teams is required
