We are the Sourcing Department. We manage the relationship with our apparel & accessories vendors & ensure that lululemon has best in the world manufacturers. We work cross-functionally across the entire product team to ensure product meets our business strategy, quality & cost goals. We then work with our vendors to make those products a reality.
The Sourcing Vision Manager works with lululemon’s design and development teams and factory partners to make the creative vision a reality.
a day in the life of a Sourcing Vision Manager
- Pre-season work with vision team (design and development) to understand new capabilities
- Align capability and technique requirements with factory source base
- Work with factories to understand production constraints (machinery, lead times, output, etc.)
- Allocate to appropriate factories for mock-ups considering capability and manufacturing requirements while supporting the sourcing strategy
- Identify machinery needs, gaps and escalate risk areas
- Understand machinery types and factory capabilities to make recommendations where investment might be required
- Work with cross-functional teams (design, merchandising, planning) to gather supporting information where investment might be required
- Key project management and reporting as needed by sourcing in relation to pre-season work
- Analyze and create reporting data to guide decision making
- Relationship management – build strong and lasting relationships externally with supply base and internally with key cross-functional partners to foster an environment of partnership and trust
- Project management which could include, but is not limited to, factory sample rooms and factory capabilities

- Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Adobe Illustrator
- Comfort with operating systems
- Manufacturing and garment construction knowledge required
- Factory, product development or sourcing experience required
- Excel in communication, project management, and analysis
- Self motivated, passionate, empathetic, approachable and a team player
- 5-8+ years experience in sourcing, production, manufacturing environment in an apparel environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business or Design required
