Job Description
Position Title: Social Media Marketing Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Director of Marketing
General Summary: The Social Media Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and will support in driving social media and some marketing initiatives. The manager will drive the SAXX Brand through social media, solicit and respond to key product placement opportunities with media and key influencers. This person must be a product of the active sports world we live and work in, embody our company culture, be able to produce digital content at a fairly proficient level, write at a high level, work well with a team, not be afraid to dig in and get their hands dirty, and live in Vancouver, BC area.
Essential Job Functions:
Content
- Search out stories that SAXX has involvement in, as well as searching out relevant content that we should associate ourselves with.
- Write and post blog content on a regular basis.
- Develop systems that ensure a consistent flow of content.
- Employ tactics such as giveaways, influencers and content contributor programs to build an audience and drive engagement.
- Monitor Athlete’s social media and work closely with internal and external partners to develop their digital support.
Consumer Engagement
- Farm grass roots stories; engage SAXX ambassadors to ensure regular updates on activities and events.
Share stories from both consumers and SAXX ambassadors to the greater SAXX audience, things like: profiles, experiences, interesting locations, and driving consumers to any upcoming SAXX sponsored or attended events. - Employ tactics such as giveaways, influencers and content contributor programs to build an audience and drive engagement.
Manage Photo Database
- Gather and store all imagery, back it up, share it and keep it organized on the SAXX FTP.
- Photo editing: sort through new and old images to develop a firm understanding of how we best represent the brand visually. You need to know what all the best/most appropriate images are and be aware of where they’d best be used.
Media / PR
- Help organize logistics of press launches, create content around product launches, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 5 years full-time experience in social roles with a working knowledge and proficiency in graphic design.
- Photography
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
- Ability to follow direction, stick to a brief and work within a team
- Proven problem-solving ability and sound judgment
- Ecommerce or apparel brand experience a plus
- Experience with creative camera mounts, drones, and other interesting ways of capturing video footage is a plus.
- A good sense of humor
