Senior Web Designer full-time

Adnet Communications is a busy downtown design firm specializing in complex websites and branding for corporate communications. We're seeking an experienced Senior Designer with a proven history of successful web projects to lead the design of our clients' online communications.

About Us
In business since 1995, Adnet specializes in websites for publicly traded companies. Our design work ranges from logos and simple websites with a handful of pages, to complex multi-month projects requiring deep investigation and refinement of Communication strategy/Aesthetics/UI/UX/Development and Platform issues. Our designers are project leaders from the initial discussions through to development hand-off and QA on finished work. They advocate for the role and value of design both to the client, and to the development team. Who you'll work with
You'll work directly with our president and head of sales to win project work, with our project manager throughout the project process to help manage client interaction and scheduling, with our development staff to define requirements and refine implementation, and with our production/service staff to provide ongoing support to your designs after they have launched.

What you'll do
Meet with project stakeholders to develop customer requirements and estimate project scope. Design deliverables in support of project requirements -- including, but not limited to Wireframes, Moodboards, Sitemaps, User-flow diagrams, Website Design Proofs, Responsive prototypes, and other deliverables that may be required to communicate concepts and reduce project risk on a case by case basis.

Successful candidate
The successful candidate will be a life-long learner, deeply interested in all aspects of design and the web. We're looking for someone who lives to create, who tinkers with new technologies and design approaches naturally and because they enjoy it. You will have developed strong conceptual skills, typography expertise, a strong sense of visual composition, colour theory and its application, excellent written and verbal command of the English language. You are comfortable conversing with experts as well as laymen about the role of design, and are able to support your design decisions with well reasoned arguments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years experience in a creative design role
• Experience designing for desktop and mobile, Responsive Web Design experience
• Experience estimating design work
• Excellent command of the English language. Both written and verbal

Nice to haves

• Illustration skills
• Logo and branding experience
• Front End Development skills -- HTML/JS/CSS
• UX Skills -- Information Architecture, Wireframes, User Flows, best practices and refining existing systems
• Copywriting Skills -- Can craft a headline, a client letter, a case study or a proposal
