Position Overview:

TELUS is seeking a strategic thinker who is both energetic and an outstanding communicator to contribute to the success of the Business Development area of the Content Solutions team.

The Senior Manager, Content (Content Business Development) is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in one of the key strategic pillars of a $9.6 billion Canadian success story. Supported by the Director, Content within TELUS Customer Solutions, the Senior Manager is responsible for advancing the development and execution of TELUS' media and entertainment strategy. Working with a diverse set of stakeholders, including marketing, product development, legal, and regulatory, the successful candidate will be responsible for the negotiation, acquisition and realization of content across TELUS platforms including TV, mobile, and broadband.

Responsibilities:

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to license content across all platforms
Understanding of content value chain and key technology enablers for TV, mobile, and broadband
Established relationships with key players in the film, television, music and internet industries
Knowledge of the Canadian entertainment marketplace and regulatory environments

Qualifications

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

Post-secondary undergraduate degree minimum; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Law degree with practical media experience highly desired

Required Experience:

A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in video and music content and entertainment industries
Demonstrated experience in complex multi-platform content licensing and distribution negotiations
