Senior Director, Marketing full-time
Job Description:
The Sr. Director, Marketing - Medsurg position is responsible for all marketing efforts across all MedSurg product portfolios. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development and execution of key marketing strategies to defend and growth current business. Candidates for this position must build and shape a strong team and serve as a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team while championing Stryker’s Vision, Promise and Mission.
Leadership/People Development:
- Collaborates with Canadian Leadership Team to ensure cross-department cooperation and efficiency
- Coach, develop and lead team of direct reports by providing developmental and growth opportunities
- Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the team
- Create a departmental succession plan with an individualized development plans for identified individuals
- Conduct annual performance reviews & bi-annually interim performance reviews
- Conduct employee engagement sessions annually, and create and execute action plans based on these sessions
- Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the team
- Responsible for compliance with company policies and corrective actions
Functional Responsibilities:
- Lead Stryker Canada’s marketing efforts focused on creating and optimizing an overall Medsurg portfolio marketing strategy including innovation metrics, new product prioritization and launches, and cross-franchise value proposition initiatives.
- Responsible for the Medsurg franchise P&L including orders and net margins and the management of the capital budget.
- Act as the customer face of the franchise and lead KOL engagement and selection initiatives including:
o TPEG management, financial tracking, communication
o HCP Communication, financial planning/tracking
o Needs assessment coordination
- Collaborate and communicate with sales leadership, and oversee the sales product training program.
- Direct market insight and competitive analysis initiatives including the identification of competitive threats & technologies and creating strategies to defend and grow current business
- Lead nationwide MedSurg franchise pricing and margins strategy and sales channel optimization efforts.
-Support RFP process & fulfillment (excluding pricing)
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Strong people management/development skills
- Possess ability to identify and hire outstanding talent - must be able to analyze and make decisions regarding personnel
- Solid understanding of Marketing concepts and the current Health Care environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Proactive, with ability to direct teams through multiple concurrent projects
- High standard of integrity and ethics
- High-energy, high-urgency, with a passion for winning
Education
- University Degree (Graduate degree an asset)
- 10 + years of experience in Marketing leadership and/or strategic planning & analysis
- Experience in medical field an asset
- Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered.
Percent Travel Required: up to 20%
