CBC-Radio Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer with copywriting experience for the Marketing and Communications department. You will lead a team of copywriters on all advertising for CBC Television, CBC News Net and CBC specialty channels, CBC Radio and CBC digital. Working with a creative team, made up of Promo Producers, Creative Directors, Art Directors, Account Managers and copywriters, you will originate creative concepts for print, TV, radio and on-line. You will use insights from creative briefs to produce print ads, promo scripts, radio scripts and on-line banner headlines and body copy. Your creative will be seen in newspapers, magazines, brochures and other collateral materials; on-air TV promotion, radio promotion, digital outputs - banners, leader boxes, on-line dominations and take-overs, corporate videos and other projects. You will be responsible to see all print projects through from concept stage to final production.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of copywriting and other relevant experience in advertising/marketing and promotion, in either an ad agency or in broadcast media.
Demonstrated superior writing, editing and proofing skills with ability to write strategic ad copy with high impact in accordance with creative briefs.
Ability to write video and audio scripts to time, as well as produce radio audio to final mix.
Knowledge of advertising disciplines.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under tight timelines.
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
Demonstrated superior leadership ability and strategic thinking.
Judgment and initiative
Requires graduation from college with a diploma or certificate in Public Relations or Communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated creativity and ability to develop and adapt these concepts into execution.
