PROGRAM ASSISTANT – WILSON SCHOOL OF DESIGN - Competition Number 16-164R
The Wilson School of Design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) has an immediate opening for a full-time (35 hours/week), permanent Program Assistant based on our Richmond Campus.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical support to students, faculty and the Coordinator of the Fashion Design and Technology program, as well as assist and support the Wilson School of Design as required. An undergraduate degree program from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience (degree preferred) is required. Related work experience in fashion is an asset.
This individual will bring demonstrated skills in preparing written correspondence, record keeping, cataloguing and managing files. Excellent communication skills both written and oral are required, as well as a proven ability to communicate patiently and effectively with a diverse group of people on a range of tasks. Other competencies include organizational and time management skills and proficiency in the planning and coordination of events. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and flexible due to the need to balance multiple and changing priorities as well as possess analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to work both independently and as a team member of the Wilson School of Design, in a student-oriented environment is a key to success in this central role of support.
Proficient knowledge of the PC platform is essential as well as demonstrated experience performing web and social media site maintenance.
Please note that some evening and weekend work as well as travel to our other campuses may be required.
