Your leadership skills and expertise in corporate communication principles and practices, print production and new media technology are required by the Communications Branch for the Ministries of Education and Training, Colleges and Universities. You will provide advice to ministry clients on the optimal print or new media solutions for their communications challenges and lead the planning, production, tracking and reporting of new media and print communications solutions to meet corporate communication objectives and priorities of ministry program clients.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- provide consultation and expert communication advisory services to client ministry program areas to identify, analyze and assess communication requirements, advise on optimal new media/print publishing solution options and develop project proposals
- determine the production framework for approved communications solutions, lead the development and implementation of detailed production plans/schedules and act as the primary liaison with communication specialists (e.g. IT, editorial, data, design and production experts)
- lead and oversee the ongoing management of work flow and delivery of production projects
- lead the measurement and reporting of the effectiveness and cost efficiency of communication solutions
- provide advice and recommendations for return on investment for new media technology and success of communication solutions
- lead research, development, establishment and review of protocols, practices, procedures, standards and guidelines related to new media technology, web/print publishing strategies and website administration and management
- provide technical expertise and in-depth analysis, advice and recommendations to senior management on new media technology-based solution opportunities and options to meet program communication needs

How do I qualify?
Corporate Communication, Print Production and New Media Technology Expertise:
You have:
- excellent knowledge of corporate communications theory, principles and practices
- extensive professional experience in assessing client communication needs and determining appropriate communications solutions utilizing a broad range of print/electronic media options
- proven knowledge and experience in leading the development and establishment of new media technology, standards and tools as well as of print publishing processes, procedures and best practices
- knowledge and expertise of communications production planning processes and strategy development techniques
Leadership and Project Management Skills:
You have:
- proven leadership skills in providing technical guidance and support and expertise in leading and overseeing the planning, coordination, monitoring, troubleshooting and assessment of initiatives
- demonstrated project management and organizational skills to plan and manage scheduling, monitoring and reporting of multiple and concurrent communication projects
- leadership skills to manage relationships with your team and stakeholders to deliver on projects
Research, Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills:
You have:
- proven research skills to identify and assess new media technology options and solutions to meet corporate objectives
- analytical skills to identify new media technology-based opportunities
- demonstrated troubleshooting skills and experience in leading the identification and resolution of communication solution production planning, scheduling and delivery issues and problems
Communication, Presentation and Stakeholder Management Skills:
You have:
- oral communication, presentation and consultation skills to provide consultation and advisory services to client program areas
- the demonstrated ability to provide effective briefings, advice and recommendations to senior management
- demonstrated experience in developing partnerships with colleagues and clients to ensure effective linkages for production initiatives
- written communication skills with experience in preparing effective proposals, project plans, reports, research summaries, procedures/protocols and issue briefings
