Our fast-paced design and advertising agency is seeking an experienced, full-time Production Artist to join our growing Calgary-based office.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced creative problem-solver able to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Job Description:
You will be responsible for developing mechanical files accurately and efficiently for print and digital projects, and will be integral in the management of our day-to-day studio worklflow.

Job Functions:

• Work directly with Traffic to forecast daily and short-term studio workload, troubleshoot layout to mechanical execution, and ensure that deadlines are met and projects are managed efficiently
• Build print-ready mechanicals for a wide variety of mediums  - advertising, collateral, direct mail, out-of-home and large format signage
• Work with designers and developers on digital projects and build vendor-ready digital mechanicals
• Conduct pre-flight and technical integrity checks on all files originating from the agency, including final review of file specifications prior to release
• Coordinate with production vendors to ensure project goals, details and deadlines are met
• Maintain digital files, font libraries, and image collections on studio file server
• Comp, prototype and presentation material assembly and execution
• Provide studio support to all agency departments

Required Skills:

• Advanced/Expert in Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac Environment
• Ability to work with precision under rigorous deadlines and extended daily schedules when necessary
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Possess an outstanding level of production ability; ability to take an approved master creative composition into various sizes and formats, while keeping the original intent of the approved creative intact
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with art directors, account managers, production managers and vendors
• Experience with Dreamweaver / HTML / Flash an asset, but not required

Experience:
•   3+ years experience as a Production Artist in an advertising agency, print vendor or design agency setting
