A strong interest in community, community engagement and LGBTQ2S+ issues.
An understanding of the media industry and how journalists work.
The ability to both develop product strategies and lead execution day-to-day.
Knowledge of technology and the process of development—the product owner is the key intermediary between tech/dev, editorial and marketing/sales.
Strong organizational skills, including building timelines and roadmaps, setting priorities, and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
Understanding of SEO, social media, accessibility and digital content distribution.
Good communication skills.
Analytics acumen, a data-informed approach and comfort using both data and user research to understand user needs, and to build products that real people will use and love.
We know there are fabulous candidates who might not meet all these criteria, or have terrific skills we haven’t thought of. If that’s you, please apply and tell us about yourself. We also encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including people of colour, LGBTQ2S+ people and people with disabilities.
