Marketing Specialist – Supply chain/Logistics focus contract

General Position Overview:
-Develops & implements programs, including Database Marketing activities, to allow Fedex to capitalize on opportunities within Key Market segments.
-Contributes to the strategic development of the one year & long range Marketing plans.
-Prepares reports & makes recommendations on Marketing activities of competitors.
-Analyzes data regarding customer needs, desires, problems & interests & provides recommendations to address key marketing opportunities. Identifies & analyzes opportunities for Database Marketing Programs in terms of potential profit & impact on Fedex, customers, & competitors.-Assists with the development of program budgets in accordance with overall department budget, & ensures programs are completed within budget.
-Plans & coordinates the activities of both external suppliers & agencies & internal resources during the implementation of approved Marketing programs.
-Identifies potential program problem areas & recommends viable solutions to Management. Develops & implements monitoring programs necessary for the analysis of program performance & uses computer models to track customer activity to measure return on investment related to specific Marketing activities. Provides return on investment analysis, alternatives & recommendations for all Marketing programs.
-Prepares analysis & reports for, & makes presentations to, senior management. Follows up on final recommendations & implementation.
-Monitors & ensures timely processing & maintenance of paperwork & administrative requirements related to Marketing programs, program product inventories, product enhancements, outside contracts, budgets, etc.
Mandatory Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Marketing or Business Administration.
-Two (2) years of relevant and/or related professional experience in Marketing within a corporate environment.
-Some Knowledge of the 3PL(Contract logistics) and/or Transportation Industry.
-Knowledge of the various modes of Transportation.
-Good quantitative, analytical, research, planning & time management skills required.
-Self starter.
-Project management skills.
-Works with little direction.
-Good communication skills, both oral & written and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to rationalize large amounts of information and detailed focus.
-Good overall computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in Marketing, Database Marketing, Information Analysis, or Market Research.
-Intermediate PowerPoint skills.
-Some financial experience.
-Knowledge of the various services of a 3PL.
