Our new Marketing Manager will lead the charge to build awareness for the important and innovative work we do for clients like Pokémon, CBC, Honeywell, and the BC Ministry of Justice. Supported by a talented team of designers, strategists, developers, and researchers, the Marketing Manager will work closely with our sales team to spread the word: OpenRoad is awesome, we’re different, you want to work with us, and here’s why! What you’ll be doing
As Marketing Manager at OpenRoad, you’ll work with the Creative Director and employees across the company to develop marketing strategies and lead initiatives that improve our reach both locally and in the global markets we target.
You’ll work with sales to develop healthy opportunities at the top of our marketing funnel. You’ll conceive and execute campaigns that target our industries and meet potential clients at their point of inquiry or need, whether that’s on the web, in social, mobile, or print.
You’ll write compelling, relevant content in a unique voice for our blog and website, as well as manage our editorial calendar and wrangle up our internal experts to develop and contribute their own unique insights. You’ll find the stories worth telling, and craft stories worthy of our audience’s time.
Build our audience of engaged colleagues and fans both offline and online, through events, social media, and community engagement.
Whisper kindly to Google Analytics, convincing her to give up her precious secrets. Report on metrics and offer insight.
Drive the efforts behind our SEO strategy, helping us perform better and become more visible in the markets we serve.
Represent OpenRoad at events, tradeshows, conferences, as well as shine the spotlight on our talented practitioners, arranging and promoting their industry involvement. You’ll play an integral part in planning and promoting the annual VanUX Awards, our city’s premiere User Experience showcase.
You’ll identify new opportunities to promote OpenRoad’s lines of business and practice areas.
You’ll get OpenRoad’s innovative work recognized through case studies, awards, and other tactics.
Take an occasional advisory role on client work, helping to apply our knowledge to their marketing problems.
Are you the right fit?
Mandatory Experience and Qualifications
First off, you have at least 3+ years of digital marketing experience in an agency or in-house marketing department.
You have a degree or a diploma in a marketing- or communications-related field.
You regularly crunch the numbers in Google Analytics and understand the how’s and why’s of the Analytics interface.
You have experience measuring the performance of campaigns and initiatives and offering meaningful insights on what worked and what didn’t… and why.
You’ve conceived and managed successful search engine marketing and social campaigns driven both by paid and earned media. You understand ad retargeting and how not to make it creepy.
You’re a wizard with marketing automation and CRM applications like MailChimp, Marketo, Hubspot, SalesForce, Pipedrive, Constant Contact, and others.
You’ve written lots of high-performing content marketing posts over your career.
You have experience interviewing stakeholders, customers, and other market players to get actionable, qualitative data.
Most Excellent Bonus Experience and Qualifications
You’ve planned and coordinated several marketing and client events.
You’ve helped develop and execute marketing strategies and plans that deliver results.
You may or may not have been the substantial content author for any number of website projects and launches.
