Marketing Director full-time
This individual will report directly to the General Manager & Regional Director, Marketing Retail Services. The individual is responsible for planning and executing a targeted, cost efficient annual Marketing Plan for the centre that utilizes marketing funds to increase traffic, increase merchants’ sales, and increase market share within the specified trade area.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute targeted, cost efficient annual Marketing Plan for the centre that utilizes marketing funds to increase traffic, increase merchants’ sales, and increase market share within a specified trade area.
Marketing & Advertising:
Prepare annual marketing plan/budget and execute strategies and tactics accordingly
Promote the centre’s consistent with established goals and revenue objectives
Develop short and long-term marketing strategies
Plan and execute appropriate advertising campaigns, merchandising events, promotional activities and public relations programs
Co-ordinate tenant and customer relations and implement comprehensive communications strategy
Assist with specialty leasing activities where required
Develop a media relations plan and strategy
Negotiate media and contracts as applicable
Project the centre’s image in line with Bentall Kennedy’s posture as a good corporate citizen and business leader in the community
Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare promotion fund budget and support schedules including control of funds through established accounts payable procedures
Prepare monthly marketing reports and explain variances
Code and process centre marketing payables and analyze variances
Management:
Work co-operatively with other management staff and provide leadership and direction to mall service staff
Foster positive tenant, consumer, community and philanthropic relationships
Keep current on market area changes, consumer and business trends as well as industry and competitive activities
Keep management office, mall staff and merchants informed of advertising schedules, mall events, etc.
Plan and execute special projects as required
Assist Regional Director of Marketing with day to day duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Related University Degree in Marketing
2-5 years of marketing or related experience;
Knowledge of retail industry an asset
Relationship Skills – Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels; ability to exercise confidentiality
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes
Computer Skills - Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple graphic/publisher programs such as Corel Draw and Photo Paint
