Overview
The LEGO Canada marketing department is responsible for development and execution of Business Unit marketing plans including brand management, media planning, in-store design and execution, trade support and license partner relationships.
The Marketing Coordinator will primarily support the Trade Marketing and Event Manager in developing and implementing in-store and event promotions to build the LEGO premium brand image and consumer sales. This individual will also support the Marketing Director with ad hoc projects as required.
Core Accountabilities
In-store/Event Marketing:
Assist in developing and executing trade promotional initiatives including in-store POS programs. Assist in developing and executing consumer events (retail or other). Support of account, theme and program specific development and execution. Liaison with internal and external partners to complete tasks. Develop project documentation for completed projects. Develop solid understanding of retail environment, LEGO and In-Store priorities, customer needs, impact on sales/account relationships and internal partner challenge.
Trade Marketing:
Manage the LEGO Canada showroom. Coordinate and implement retailer events. Coordinate and implement retailer online marketing activities. Develop and customize LEGO Canada customer flashcards. Other tasks as assigned by Marketing Director or Trade Marketing and Event Manager as required.
Marketing Activities:
Coordinate across brand team and in-store/events to maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar. Assist in presenting annual product overviews to other LEGO Canada, Inc. departments or customers. Support licensing relationships (WB, Disney, Lucas, etc.) as designated by Marketing Director. Other tasks as assigned by Marketing Director.
Requirements
University or college degree in business or equivalent experience. 1-2 years in the use, development and production of POP/in-store materials and programs or experience working in a trade marketing role at a CPG company. Full-time contract position located in LEGO Canada office in Toronto. Occasional international / domestic travel will be required. Occasional evening and / or weekend work will be necessary.
