DUTIES: Northern College is seeking a creative individual with well-developed communications, problem solving, organizational and decision-making skills. As part of the College Services team, the incumbent is responsible for providing communications and marketing services in support of the College’s communications and marketing goals. The incumbent researches and monitors emerging issues likely to impact the College and recommends best practices for marketing, social media, and public relations. The incumbent also provides input, implements and coordinates marketing strategies to promote Northern College’s image, programs, services, and supports student enrollment targets.
You will support external and internal communications, marketing campaigns, social media, and media relations. The incumbent contributes to and coordinates integrated marketing communications plans and programs to competitively position the College in the community and beyond. In addition, the incumbent also researches, edits, and writes internal and external corporate communication products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- The successful applicant will possess a three-year diploma or degree in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations and a minimum of three years work experience in a similar role, or a combination of relevant education and work experience.
- A sound understanding of media relations and developing integrated marketing and communications strategies and campaigns.
- A proven record of successfully developing a wide variety of written communications materials of varying complexity from conception to completion, while handling multiple tasks, changing priorities, and tight deadlines.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a strong desire for quality and willingness to take ownership of one’s work.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills; ability to express and present ideas and concepts.
