Summary

OASW is looking for a collaborative and results-driven marketing and communications professional to join our team in the new role of Marketing and Communications Associate. OASW is the voice of the social work profession in Ontario. We are focused on expanding awareness of the value of social workers and building relationships that foster engagement with current and future practitioners to strengthen the wide-ranging field of Social Work and the Association.

OASW is looking for a collaborative and results-driven marketing and communications professional to join our team in the new role of Marketing and Communications Associate. We are committed to reflecting the diversity of our communities and profession. Reporting to the Manager of Member Experience and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing campaigns, overseeing data collection and reporting on marketing initiatives, supporting content development and management of key communications channels (eNewsletters, social media, website), and creating engaging communications pieces in written and visual formats to support the success of the Association and its engagement with members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and/or leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the Association’s services (professional development offerings, events, communities/networks, research products and reports, membership benefits and discounts, job board, and overall membership) to members and other stakeholders.
  • Working in collaboration with team members, supporting and/or leading content development and management of key communications channels (social media, e-newsletter, and website).
  • Providing writing and design services to support marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of OASW’s annual Social Work Week engagement campaign.
  • Coordinating and supporting the ongoing tracking, analysis and reporting of key marketing and communications metrics.
  • Coordinating ongoing translation needs for the OASW team and departments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years relevant work experience in marketing and communications roles
  • University or college degree/diploma in communications or marketing field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, measuring and reporting on strategic marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated writing, design, and project management skills
  • Professional on-the-spot communication skills
  • Adaptability/flexibility and collaborative teamwork; demonstrated success in working well with people and teams and building strong relationships
  • Knowledge of and experience with the following platforms will be considered an asset:

o IMIS (membership management system)

o Asana (project management)

o Adobe Creative Suite and/or online design tools (Canva, Piktochart)

o Constant Contact (HTML email marketing)

o Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (intermediate to advanced knowledge)

o Social Media management and analytics for organizations (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Hootsuite)

o HTML (basic to intermediate knowledge)

o Google Analytics (basic to intermediate knowledge)

o Survey Monkey / Simple Survey

o Bit.ly

  • Experience working in a membership association will be considered a strong asset
  • Experience in a non-profit organization and/or the social work or social services sectors an asset
