Responsibilities
Reporting to and supporting the Vice President, Technology and Corporate Strategy, the Manager of Marketing Communications will help fuel the growth of the company through the delivery of compelling communications initiatives. You will work closely with the General Fusion Executive team in executing communications strategy and plans.
Manage all company communications materials, such as web site, brochures, presentations, videos and press releases.
Identify and develop marketing opportunities such as awards, conferences and speaking opportunities in Canada and internationally.
Develop social media strategy and manage all communication through social media: Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., as appropriate.
Working with external PR support, identify and develop PR opportunities, respond to media requests, and develop PR support materials.
Track all media and blog coverage of General Fusion.
Maintain database of corporate contacts and build relationships as appropriate.
Work with others in the company to prepare documentation for a variety of purposes, such as communications with governments, investors, suppliers and other stakeholder groups.
Manage company site tours.
Assist with internal corporate communications.
Qualifications
Requirements for this position are:
At least 5 years of prior experience in marketing, corporate communications, and interfacing directly with international media.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Writing releases and documents is an important part of this role.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Be creative and innovative, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using presentation and graphic design tools to develop communications materials, such as PowerPoint and Photoshop.
Website content management.
The following would be an asset:
Experience with energy/electricity industry or advanced technology organizations.
Technical and/or science communications experience, possibly with a science or engineering background
Experience working in innovative, entrepreneurial or startup organizations.
