Junior Web Developer full-time
Wallop is looking for a Junior Web Developer to manage the maintenance of client websites and handle small projects. Ideally you'd have two years of experience working in a similar role, but we're willing to train the right candidate with the requisite skills.
The lion's share of work will be to update and maintain client websites. You will be expected to manage the communication with clients and estimation process for small tasks. Part of the job will be to assist senior staff with overflow work from large projects, including design, markup, content entry, and QA.
This is a position with a lot of room to grow, almost every employee who started in this role have moved on to senior positions in the company. There is a lot of interaction with clients, so customer service experience is an asset.
Duties:
- Update and maintain client websites
- Assist developers with markup
- Train new clients on WordPress
- Content entry for websites builds
- Assist with the website QA process
- Write clean CSS and HTML
- Markup email templates and manage email marketing software
- Project planning and coordination
- Manage client communications diligently and professionally
Qualifications:
- Ability to edit CSS(3) and HTML(5)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Experience using productivity tools and project management software
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite and office software
- Motivated, ability to work independently
- Ability to follow timelines and work under pressure
- Experience working on a Mac is an asset
- Basic JavaScript and/or PHP programming experience is a bonus
- Knowledge and exprience building responsive websites is an asset
- Experience with frameworks like jQuery, Compass, and Foundation a bonus
