The publishing company that manages the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to assist with a variety of publishing projects, both in print and online.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist with a series of 15 annual magazines that announce our various editorial competitions. These magazines reach a large audience through our partnerships with over a dozen well-known newspapers across the country.

Responsibilities

• Work with our publishing team to design new features and commercial products for advertisers that want to include their messages for our various audiences.
• Work with external contractors on various design projects to ensure brand consistency and quality control.
• Balance simultaneous design projects, some of which will be subject to scheduling and priority changes under tight deadlines
• Manage the quality and edit our collection of photos being published
• Ideate, design and conceptualize marketing materials and other design projects

Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. You have experience in and print production workflows.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in print design, with some online design
• A university or college degree, or diploma in graphic design
• A strong portfolio that features print experience
• Self-motivated, organized, and accountable with very strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively; excellent command of written English spelling and grammar
