External Communications Coordinator full-time
Description
Reporting to the Director, External Communications, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, measurement and analysis of a variety of communications and public relations activities and projects. As a member of the Global Corporate Communications team, the incumbent will largely support activities related to external projects while working closely with the team at the headquarters in Montreal on corporate activities as required. The role’s primary focus will be on external communications but may include some limited internal or employee support, as needed.
Responsibilities:
•Coordinate content development and the approval process for various documents such as press releases, marketing materials, the annual report and corporate magazines while ensuring corporate standards are adhered to.
•Collect information for draft documents, such as press releases and articles, while ensuring factualness and accuracy of the content
•Coordinate the preparation of reports and analyses of key external performance metrics.
•Collate and send out the daily press review
•Follow up with other team members and internal departments to ensure that deadlines are met on external projects
•Respond to requests for information on brochures, advertising material, logos, images, kiosks, etc.
•Coordinate promotional materials needed for events (booth, banners, promotional items)
•Track the production schedule and update the schedule based on the progress of projects
•Support media relations and events, including press conferences, interviews and related tasks.
•Track budget-related information and obtain necessary approvals.
•Carry out various administrative tasks related to initiatives led by GCC.
•Provide back-up to the Internal Communications Coordinator as needed.
•Other duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or any other related field
•Post-graduate certificate in Public Relations, Corporate Communications or Marketing Communications preferred
•3 to 5 years of relevant experience
•Excellent writing skills
•Project management experience is an asset
•Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
•Ability to research, analyze and manage projects
