Job Description
As Director of Web Marketing, you will play the leading role in the development and implementation of Internet and intranet strategies. Working with key stakeholders (e.g. IT, Distribution, external suppliers, etc.), you will direct and champion The Co-operators online presence.
You will design and manage both short and long term strategies aimed at maximizing the use of web sites, online tools and services, e-commerce, social media, intranets, extranets and related technologies. You will stay abreast of technological and industry trends, while making proactive recommendations for the use of online strategies to support stated business objectives.
You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations and staffing of a department of marketing and web professionals. Your leadership will make a significant and measurable contribution to client growth, retention, trust and reputation.
Roles and responsibilities:
o Develop and implement both short and long term online strategies in support of corporate business objectives particularly those related to client acquisition, retention and online service.
o Coordinate web initiatives across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, playing a key role in the selection and prioritization of projects.
o Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships related to web marketing, social media and client-facing services.
o Maximize the integration of web marketing and services with those provided via agencies and contact centres.
o Provide recommendations to senior management based on emerging web trends in technology, business application or industry adoption.
o Manage relationships with IT web developers (internal and external)to ensure the most efficient and effective use of both human and financial resources.
o Provide guidance and technical expertise for the organizations SEO and online reputation management practices.
o Recruit, manage, coach and develop a team of highly specialized web marketing professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
o You have 7+ years of experience in the development and implementation of web marketing strategies and initiatives preferably in the financial services industry.
o You have completed a post-secondary degree, preferably in Business/Commerce, IT or Marketing – and/or a professional designation in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
o You have in depth knowledge of web technologies (operating platforms and software tools), programming languages, project management best practices, social media applications and industry standards.
o You have direct experience with managing large, complex web initiatives.
o You have a solid understanding of marketing theory and application..
o You are able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects, including the ability to prioritize and negotiate when faced with conflicting resource demands.
o You have direct experience with negotiating, developing and implementing programs and/or alliances with third parties.
o You are an effective communicator both verbal and written; you are comfortable leading meetings, presenting to a wide variety of audiences and articulating complex technical information.
o You have demonstrated your ability to build solid relationships with peers, direct reports, suppliers and other stakeholders.
o You have a solid working knowledge of PCs and standard operating software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Internet, etc.).
