Key responsibilities and accountabilities:(including but not limited to)
Guide the development of product performance and creative initiatives across multiple design teams to ensure cohesive application of defined product direction
Coordinate the validation and application of new technologies and construction techniques to relevant product categories
Collaborate with Design Director, Design Managers, and Product Line Managers, to build seasonal range plans that will drive the growth of the category
Work with Product and Operations teams to refine the design and development process
Guide Design teams and manage the design process for seasonal and long term design projects from concept through commercialization and on time delivery
Present new product lines at internal reviews and sales meetings
Collaborate with Product Line Managers, Marketing, and Sales to ensure that key product developments are being communication internally and to the market
Additional experience, education and/or skills:
Required
Education: Degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design or Industrial Design
5+ years hands-on experience designing technical apparel and/or performance apparel products in the outdoor industry
Significant experience coming up with tools and methods to assist in solving construction issues
Significant experience leading and managing creative teams in the performance apparel industry
A keen interest in technical equipment or apparel and its application to a variety of environments.
Ability to travel 4-6 times a year as required
