Digital Media specialist – Competition Number 16-189R

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has an immediate opening for a full-time permanent Digital Media Specialist to work in our Marketing Services department located at our Surrey Campus. Under the direction of the Manager, Web and Digital Technologies, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for producing videos, photos, and other digital content to share KPU stories for marketing and promotional purposes and throughout our social media networks and website. The candidate will administer and coordinate the design, content and posting of video and photo assets and ensure the effective operation and usage of the university's video/photo technology for KPU marketing purposes.

Required skills and qualifications include:

• Completion of a two-year diploma or program in a related field
• Equivalent combination of education and related current experience may be acceptable
• Photo / video journalism experience
• Demonstrated successes creating video, photo and written content for web and social media
• Thorough knowledge of digital photography, video pre-production, production and post-production
• Understanding of storytelling as it applies to photography and video
• Proficient in the use of digital recording and editing equipment and software
• Familiarity with Drupal and Wordpress
• Excellent working knowledge of new media software applications (e.g.Adobe  Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
• Proven experience with: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and YouTube
• A proven portfolio showcasing relevant work
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License and access to a vehicle
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and ability to work from all KPU campuses and external locations as required
