This full-time 40 hour/week position works with the Communications Manager to produce clear and compelling communications materials which inform others and enhance the work of Communitas.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Develop and maintain consistent branding of the organization
• Design printed materials such as newsletters, brochures, and posters
• Design and maintain current and usable websites and other digital tools
• Develop and maintain social media tools
• Assist with telling stories and writing copy that is consistent with style/editorial practices and philosophical language
• Maintain media release files and ensure confidentiality requirements are met
• Plan and execute focused advertising and marketing initiatives
• Explore new forms of communication as needed and appropriate
• Other duties as required

Preferred Skills

• College level education in graphic design, web design, marketing or related field
• 2 or more years communications or design experience
• Experience with HTML, CSS and content management systems is an asset
• Experience with digital publishing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
• Strong writing and editing skills an asset
• A strong sense of visual aesthetic
• Ability to communicate a clear and succinct message that is focused on the audience's needs
• A philosophy of service that is in line with the philosophy and values of Communitas
• Experience relating to people who have a disability is an asset
• Creativity and adaptability
• Excellent teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently without supervision
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to quickly master new tools and technology
