Cineplex Digital Media (CDM) is a fully integrated, in-store digital merchandising provider with well over a decade of research, development and design experience. We provide strategically designed installations and customized creative to enable brands to effectively communicate with audiences in ways they never imagined. Using proprietary, state-of-the-art technology, and patented software, we have developed some of the world’s largest and most complex digital merchandising networks.
Our Cineplex Digital Media division is currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, experienced creative Art Director to manage, develop, and direct our production team in London. The candidate will be overseeing the development and execution of Quick Service Restaurant marketing materials, reporting directly to the Creative Director, Cineplex Digital Media. This opportunity is located at our Cineplex Digital Media office at 369 York Street, Suite 2C, London ON N6B 3R4.
You have a bold, clean, detail-orientated sense of design with at least 5-7 years of experience in a design/production environment, having worked within a digital media advertising organization. You are comfortable with all stages of design — from concept to production. You have the ability to generate creative ideas that can be crafted into effective consumer messages and executions. You have a keen and critical eye for graphic design and a strong ability to think conceptually and strategically. You are comfortable working in multiple mediums: digital, directing and/or executing on animation, motion-design, and directing live action video & photo shoots. You take initiative and can work independently but also capable of being a team player and providing support where needed. You’re able to learn fast and are committed to always hitting the deadline. You’re not afraid to think outside the box and present new ideas.
In this role you will be responsible for creating and aiding the development of print and digital merchandising solutions and creative content for some of North America’s leading brands within the Quick Service Restaurant industry.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Creative Director and Account Director in ensuring that all creative materials are strategically sound, on brand, and meets client and corporate business objectives.
Provide art direction for digital and print collateral / point of sale material for in-store/exterior merchandising applications.
Assist the Creative Director in the development and maintenance of print/digital menu board materials and promotional content.
Expected to provide full cycle performance management support for direct reports which includes: setting objectives, coaching and monitoring work in progress, coaching for career direction and skill development, providing formal feedback and recognition and prioritizes the work of team members.
Ensure consistency in quality of output produced by the team and adherence to brand standards.
Assist and proactively develop creative proposals and presentation materials to support Creative Director and Account Director in furthering creative and business initiatives.
Development of InDesign PDF documentation for approval processes and proposals
Expected to articulate design decisions and rationale
Submit daily time sheet detailing work execution
Key Skills and Experience
University or College degree in advertising, media studies, multimedia design, graphic arts, or relevant discipline. Background must include practical training in graphic design / multimedia production.
Experience working in Marketing or Advertising production studio environment.
Possesses management experience.
Minimum 5-7 years experience doing Graphic Design in the industry.
Meticulous design skills.
Thorough knowledge of, and at least 5 years experience in a work environment with Adobe CS/Cloud products, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat for Mac OS.
Knowledgeable of production workflows and file formats.
Able to work traditional and occasionally non-traditional hours.
Proven design skills, including an understanding of composition, colour theory and typography.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
Must be able to work under tight deadlines and be able to multi-task several jobs.
Can work under pressure and deliver deadlines on time within a fast turnaround Environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
